Salih Ozcan is keen to stay at Borussia Dortmund despite the German club looking to offload the 26-year-old midfielder this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are planning to sell Salih Ozcan before the summer window closes, but it may not be easy as the 26-year-old midfielder wants to stay at the Black and Yellows, according to Ruhr Nachrichten on Tuesday.
BVB, under new manager Nuri Şahin, recently signed Pascal Gross from Brighton, adding more options in midfield in addition to Emre Can, Marcel Sabitzer and Felix Nmecha. As a result, Ozcan has had fewer opportunities to play than before, not taking part in the first official game against Phoenix Lubeck in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keen to sell Ozcan, but the player is contracted until 2026 and feels comfortable at the club with no plans to move this summer, so it will be up to the Black and Yellows to convince the 26-year-old to move on.
Borussia Dortmund signed Özcan from FC Köln in 2022. And while he made a promising start, he has not been able to press on and establish himself as a regular starter in the team. The 26 year old has made a total of 70 appearances for the Black and Yellows so far, UFABET and has two years left on his current contract.
Salih Özcan certainly has a decision to make in the coming days. Whether to accept his role and stay at BVB, or to join another club where he might get to play regularly.
