Manchester City England international Phil Foden has been name the 2024 PFA Player of the Year, as expected.

The 24-year-old star has been in fine form throughout the 2023/24 campaign, making 52 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists as they secured a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Foden was name the winner, beating Manchester City team-mates Rodri and Erling Haaland, who won the award last year, as well as Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins. 

He became the first English player to win the award in 14 years since Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney in 2010 and the third City player to win the award, Promotion Ufabet after Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne. 

Foden has previously won the PFA Young Player of the Year award twice and his performances last year saw him win the senior player award for the first time.

“To win this award is special. I am very happy and proud. It means a lot to me when my fellow professionals see your work. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, as well as Pep Guardiola, the coaching staff and all the players at City,” he said.
